“You’re up next,” Daniel Krane goaded.
“Thanks for reminding me,” I sarcastically remarked back.
A single light beamed on the piano and the carpet that rested on the concert floor.
The clapping had stopped and silence hit faster than a bullet. The anticipation from
everyone filled the air. The audience’s eyes seemed so huge and deep. My face turned a
white shade. It seemed all the knowledge I had on my pieces was swept like a white
board. Even though it seemed like I was glued to my chair I stood up and started trudging
slower than a turtle. I looked back at the audience one more time and as I did I noticed
something! Everybody was smiling. These warm glowing friendly smiles put me at ease,
almost as if they unconsciously allowed me to play.
